What are the design pressure, flow and droplet-size ranges for HVWS?

What is high velocity water spray (HVWS) and when is it used?

HVWS is a projector-type water-spray device that produces 500-1000 micron coarse droplets at 2.5-5 bar for direct impingement onto hot surfaces of flammable-liquid storage, oil-filled transformers, generator rooms and cable spreading rooms. The coarse droplets emulsify the flammable surface and provide both extinguishment and cooling simultaneously. Governed by IS 884 and NFPA 15.

What are the pricing and lead times?

HVWS (high velocity) produces 500-1000 micron coarse droplets at 2.5-5 bar for direct impingement onto hot flammable surfaces - emulsification plus cooling plus extinguishment. MVWS (medium velocity) produces 60-130 micron medium droplets at 1.5-3.5 bar for surface precipitation and cooling only. HVWS is used where the hazard is a liquid-fuel fire; MVWS where the hazard is heat uptake into adjacent equipment.

Do you offer customization and design support?

Oil-filled transformer tanks typically use K3 or K5 at 10-15 LPM per m° of surface. Large hydrocarbon tanks use K7 or K10 at 15-25 LPM per m° with 500-micron coarse droplets for rapid emulsification.
